Subsidies for Period and Incontinence Reusable Products
Grant for the Purchase of Washable Pads and Underwear
Save significantly by choosing reusable products. Since the beginning of 2020, several municipalities in Quebec have launched initiatives aimed at promoting the use of sustainable hygiene products. Among these are subsidies for the purchase of items like washable diapers and reusable menstrual pads. These subsidies vary from one municipality to another, but they can cover up to 50% of the purchase cost, with a maximum reimbursement of up to $125 per person.
Take the example of Alexandra, a resident of Boisbriand. She decides to invest in washable pads worth $100 before taxes. By following the instructions provided in this article, she can submit her invoice to the municipality of Boisbriand and save $50 on her purchase.
Before making any purchase, be sure to consult your municipality’s website and carefully read the program’s conditions and the steps to follow to obtain the reimbursement. The information available on your municipality’s website prevails, and it is recommended to check if funds are still available for the subsidies to avoid any inconvenience.
Below is a list of cities, municipalities, RCMs, and boroughs participating in these programs, regularly updated. New cities may be added throughout the year, so be sure to check our newsletter to stay informed. We will also add new cities joining the program as soon as they are announced.
